Week 2 Updates

April 9th, 2010

I’ve played ultimate for about 3 years now, and I finally read the Official Rules of Ultimate (11th Edition). I highly encourage you to read through the rules when you get the chance! You should have received the small booklet when you signed up for the UPA. If not, the online version is linked on our “practice” tab above.

SAVE THE DATES:

April 10-11 College Open (Men’s) Sectionals in Long Beach (Come watch and support our boys!)
April 17-18 College Women’s Sectionals in Claremont
May 8 FOOLerado — Women’s tournament hosted at UCSD
May 22 GRASS NINJA + IRVINE ULTIMATE BANQUET

More details about the banquet to come, but mark it on your calendar. Plan to look classy and dress up! We’ll probably have Irvine Ultimate pick up at the ARC and then our banquet in the evening to wrap up our seasons.

Going into Week 10

March 7th, 2010

Hooray! The weather was on our side this weekend. Much thanks to all the teams that attended the first tournament hosted by Grass Ninjas. I hope you all had a most excellent time and got your fix of ultimate in. Feel free to email us with any helpful comments of what you liked and didn’t like about the tournament so we can improve it in later years =)

Grass Ninjas X placed 5th out of 12 teams. Yay!!! HUGE thanks to all the parents that came out to watch and support us! We really appreciated the spirit on the sidelines and the gracious amounts of snacks from the Nishimes’

**There is no practice tomorrow (3/8). Rest up. Drain your legs tonight and get your studying done. This Wednesday (3/10) will be the last practice of this quarter.

On another note, my ninja assassin game ended last week. Last one standing goes to Scott “Skeeter” Lem. Char “Pokey” Chiok got second. The person with the most assassinations goes to Josh “Jiggsaw” Yee. I think the count was 16. Some sort of prize should be given at some point in time…
